Tucked away deep in suburban Johnson County there is an underground operation happening. Closets are filled with living creatures from all around the metro, which grow in containers of various shapes and sizes. A mad scientist collects these organisms, trapping them in glass containers, duplicating them until they grow large enough to take over large vats of potions. Read more

Let there be ale!

58 ales to be precise. Tomorrow, Tour of Kansas City presents the Real Ale Fest 2014 – a new festival they hope becomes a KC tradition.

Gates open at 2 p.m., for the common folk, but VIP tickets get drinkers into an early 11 a.m. sampling. You’ll need to sop up some of that glorious alcohol, and luckily The Rebecca Grille and Next Door Pizza will be on hand to satisfy your afternoon hunger pangs. Read more
